In the heart-pounding action thriller “Jawan,” Azad, the jailer of a women’s prison in Mumbai, takes drastic measures to rectify corruption and injustice. He hijacks a Mumbai Metro train, holding passengers hostage alongside six inmates. Among them is Kalki, whose father’s suicide due to loan failure fuels Azad’s mission. Negotiating with NSG officer Narmada Rai, Azad demands ₹40,000 crore from the Agriculture Minister to save the hostages. His goal? To donate the funds toward the loan waiver of impoverished farmers.
As the plot unfolds, Azad’s true identity and past emerge. His connection to Vikram Rathore, a commando in the Indian Army, becomes pivotal. In 1986, Vikram faced betrayal, memory loss, and a national traitor label. His wife, Aishwarya, was imprisoned for a crime she didn’t commit. Their son, Azad, grows up seeking justice for his father.
In the present, Azad battles Kalee Gaikwad, a global arms dealer, and his corrupt empire. With Narmada’s help, Azad exposes the truth, fights for the oppressed, and confronts his own demons. The film culminates in a gripping showdown, where Vikram regains his memory, and together with Azad, they bring Kalee to justice.
“Jawan” is a rollercoaster of emotions, weaving action, suspense, and family bonds. It shattered box-office records, making it the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. Now, Azad’s next mission targets Swiss banks, promising more thrills and intrigue.
